We are finally winding down the longest period of war in our history. This is the best opportunity since the end of the Cold War to reverse the massive post-9/11 expansion of the U.S. military-industrial complex and instead redirect our resources toward investments in our people.
But so far, this post-war military downsizing is more meager than any of the ones that followed previous U.S. wars.
